It was a scene straight out of Sholay on the sets of Lapataganj on SAB TV.
Based on the stories of Late Sharad Joshi, the show captures the flavour of a small town India. The sets of Lapataganj has many houses that have an authentic feel to it. On the roof top of one of the houses, the director was shooting a scene with Vinit Kumar who plays the role of Kachua Prasad.
Vinit had to go on the top and threaten to jump from there if his demands are not met. The director was pleased with the way the shot had shaped up. But he didn’t know the real reason behind the perfect expressions. The roof had actually become shaky and Vinit started losing his balance. People standing on the ground realised it and they actually started panicking. When asked about the incident, Vinit said, “People reacted so genuinely that I didn’t want to spoil the scene by raising the alarm.” To watch the scene tune in to SAB every Monday to Thursday at 10 pm.
